As many faithful viewers are aware, Dev and I have been on and off for so long that its hard to keep track of (try it from this side!). When he invited me over Friday evening, I made up my mind in the car that really this time that I had to say "Shit or get off the pot.". Next Monday would be our 1 yr anniversary and I didn't want to clear a year of this without clearing the air.

After a very long heart to heart conversation, where he spilled his guts, and explained his feelings and his confusion, (and he said I love you!) I said "I completely understand, however, I can't keep doing this. You need to shit or get off the pot." He said "You're right." and got off the couch.
I said "Where are you going?"
He replied "Going to take a big shit, stay here" and came back with his family crest ring that he wears and said "I realize its not the real thing, but until you get the real thing, I want you to wear this and I want you to marry me."
We traded the gold family crest ring for the silver one as the gold one was too big for my finger and I shall get the real deal at some point.

For the naysayers, the concerned, the worried.... I love you all very much for your concern and support. I do solemnly promise that this is not going to happen next week (I kinda need a divorce first) and I do promise that I take every day one day at a time.

I am happy.

And in other news.... we have a new addition to the Zoo. Last night getting the lawnmower out of the shed, a small mewing was heard. Upon searching of the shed, a smalllllll little kitten was found. Over the years, other rescues have happened in this house but they've all ended up at the SPCA... this one however won and has now moved in. Her name is Etcetera.

And the sad news... Grandparents of a childhood friend... they treated my sister and I like family and were wonderful people, D&E - D was having open heart suregery and had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks. E was going home to sleep, but was at the hospital with D most of the time. She went home one evening and her apartment was broken into and she was strangled to death and then the apartment set on fire... and the next morning, D, passed away in the hospital. Tragic tragic loss.

I think I need sleep.

So far it has been a fantastic day. I have had 4 presents so far and its far from over. ;-)

Tomorrow... I get birthday brunch and presents with Scott and Rachel.

Mom is none to happy that I have invited Devin to dinner, but I told her to stick it in her ear because it was my birthday dinner.

Hopefully this is all legible - I know my eyes are crossed trolling thru 865 songs released from 1980-1989 and its only taken me an hr and 15 mins to put this together.... Im certain that I need to do something more productive on my days off...like reading a certain book...

With the pouring rain that has been going on for a week now, I've decided to build an ark. I've also had to move the planters off the front steps as I had potting soil lava pouring over the sides.

I've started my books that I need to complete before ground school starts and my brain is mushy. Theory of flight, turbines, load and balance, centre of gravity, wing load, load factors, weather... METAR reports, SPECIs, 9 billion different types of clouds, windshears.. *eyes crossing*
I'm aiming to finish From The Ground Up and Air Command Weather Manual by the middle of July, ground school the last week of July, more shadowing at work and then I have my dispatchers course in Toronto the week of Nov 11-18.
All said and done, I should be able to write my Transport Canada exams by early December.

What will I be able to do when I'm done you ask?
I will be able to tell pilots where to go and how to get there. Planning the flight, ensuring accurate numbers as far as passenger load, cargo load, ensuring enough fuel from point A to point B, making sure that the flight path chosen is obstacle (weather) free - if not, choosing an alternative and ensuring fuel for same, choosing runway for take off and landing and weather in both cities (do we have wet/dry runway conditions? tail wind? wind gusts? unusual weather? air traffic control delays (go Toronto)? ).

I get to build a watch instead of telling you what time it is. :-)

So in October, Mossy and Penny are headed to Vancouver, and since thats a hop skip and a jump for me, I figured I'd head out there as well.... and then the idea got bigger..

Okay, so I came over here to ask you to dance, but I'm kind of concerned. I mean, we could hit it off really well, end up having a few drinks, next thing you know you're giving me your number because I'm too shy to ask for it, I finally get up the nerve to call and we take in a movie, have some dinner, I relax, you relax, we go out a few more times, get to know each other's friends, spend a lot of time together, then finally have get past this sexual tension and really develop this intense sex life that is truly incredible, decide our relationship is solid and stable, so we move in together for a while, then a few months later get married, I get a promotion, you get a promotion, we buy abigger house.
You really want kids, but I really want freedom, but we have a kid anyway, only to find that I am resentful, the sparks start to fade and to rekindle them we have two more lovely kids, but now I work too much to keep up with the bills, have no time for you, you're stressed and stop taking really good care of yourself, so to get past our slow sex life and my declining self-confidence I turn to an outside affair for sexual gratification. You find out because I'm careless and a lousy liar, you throw me out (justifiably so) and we have to explain tothe kids why mommy and daddy are splitting up. That's just too sad. Think about the children.
