Today's babble

I got an email from an old friend today. We haven't spoken for awhile, but I think about them frequently and wonder if they are ok. Life seems to have taken some twisty paths for them, and they seem happy. It was nice to hear that they are ok and my occasional worry was unwarranted.

I registered for my course today and things are looking up in that regard. The website for the course appears to be on crack tho. Some pages say the course is 8 days, some 7, some say that 50% deposit is required, others say $100 (to me that says the course is $200), so I may have to just hunker down and never spend a dime til the course is over if the course is more than that. My hotel for 9 nights is gonna kill me and meals... urgh. Not to mention taxi/transit if I can't get a hotel close enough. Damnit. *laugh*

Anyways, don't forget that Penny and Mossy are going to be in Vancouver at the end of October so we can party like its 1999 and all that stuff.

Week 13 1 day

How's that for screwed up.

My first ultrasound showed 7 weeks 1 day. That was spot on the money for that particular Monday morning. 5 weeks later, on a Monday... I am apparently 12 weeks 5 days. So something is amiss there. However, if it means I'm pregnant for a week less, that might be a blessing.

Unofficially, a little birdie told me (in the form of a manager), that I got my leave of absence approved so I can do my course in November. It had been kyboshed because of our new software release date and they had to push the date into the first quarter of 2006 and so I immediately put my request in again and it looks like it is a go. If I said that I was doing the dance of joy, its a cross between the snoopy dance and the happy dance that Balki did.
So it looks like I will be in Toronto Nov 10-19th and that means homework every night between now and then.

I have Freckles the Damnation again until Thanksgiving as Mom is off touring the western coast of the US. This is now the proverbial zoo. 2 cats, 1 dog and a fish... all requiring attention at 7am...fuck me. I'm moving out.

And on that note, I am off to work, have a fantastic day!

11 weeks, 1 day

Roit, this has nothing to do with pregnancy, however the ranting about to go on could possibly be hormone induced...

I have now figured out why the American Constitution has included the right to bear arms. If I was an American, I'd be looking to shoot someone right about now.

I understand, yesterday was an important day in history... 4 years ago!
However, there are other pressing issues that need to be taken care of TODAY...
Bush attended memorial services for Sept 11 in various cities and at the end of the day (sunset) saw a little of the ravaged area. Nice.
FEMA putting conditions on the $2000 debit cards they issued (have to have been evacuated to Houston only??!) and the rest of you have to give them your mailing address... Hello??? they have no mailing address, its in the Gulf of Mexico.

As Duff commented, it would have been interesting had this been an election year, however it isn't, and we're all stuck with him until the end of this term or he gets impeached. Racism surely should be enough of a reason... or inability to run a country should also be enough.... I hope for the sake of everyone that congress steps up to the plate and for the free world, impeaches Bush and allows sanity to return. Or at least some form of it.

10 weeks, 6 days

Sorry I haven't kept you all in the loop, just had a bazillion things on the go and have been sleeping/resting an awful lot.

Had a biopsy, as my pap was abnormal but everything is hoopy. Yay.

I've been following along with the rest of the world, the events of Katrina and her devastation. Every day I am more and more surprised at the little help the US government has sent along and the vast majority of assistance is private citizens.

However, the best one for hilarity and stupidity is this:

For 60 days, the IRS will waive interest, siezures and liens for those in the affected areas.

WHAT are you going to seize? WHAT are you going to exercise your lien on? WHERE are you going to send their tax bills? Are you that fucking stupid? Just wipe their slates clean because you can't get blood from a stone. Then the FCC telling cell phone companies not to cut off customers from the affected areas if they haven't paid their bill. Chances are, they don't have their cell phone charger, so the batteries are dead. Most people expected to be home in a day or two, remember? Nice gesture, but send help.

I certainly hope that all of this government mismanagement is the final nail in Dubya's coffin.
