I called Devin to find out if he had gotten me the permission letter so I can travel to the US. He refused to give me a note. I explained to him how it works and it isn't blanket permission, it is a one time note and it is done via a lawyer/notorary public and he needed certain information from me to do it, which he obviously didn't have or have any intention of doing. I called him originally around 3pm Friday... he called 4 times while we were loading the cars to get out of town. I called him back and apologised for missing the calls.. asked about the letter, he said no, and we talked for about 2 mins and he said "ok, talk to you later" and I said yeah whatever and he hung up. While we were setting up camp, he called twice more. I called him back and he was looking for a fight. I didn't bite. Which didn't make him happy. I just was laughing at the chaos of tent setting up and just basically talking nicey-nice to him and so he ended the call. I told him we would be back Wednesday because in all honesty, I need to not have to deal with him for a few days.

He hasn't paid support nor has he filed the paperwork with Maintence as of Thursday (and from his comments on Friday he hadn't then either). I spoke to them on Thurs afternoon and they advised that he has 31 days from when originally sent the documents and then they will begin enforcement which is a week tomorrow approx.

He said he has tried to get ahold of them, and I will concur, it is not easy. 80% of the time, I end up in a "press 1 for this, press 2 for this" loop... when you get thru that, it then rings once and says "All of our operators are currently handling other calls, if you would like to return to the main menu, press # or press 1 to leave a message." If you press 0, it dumps you bac to the main menu anyways and you do that about 18 times before you get fustrated. And they have shitty operational hours for manning their phones too...so if you're not one of the first calls in the morning or last calls of the day, you're screwed to get in touch with them.

Onto more fun stuff...

We went camping this weekend and froze our arses off at night. Poor Presleigh woke at 3am freeeeeeeezing. So I tucked her in with me after trekking to the bathroom to warm her bottle (no way I could light a propane coleman in the dark half asleep) and then we fell asleep together in my bed. We called it done (we were staying longer but it was just tooooooooo cold) today and she also had nearly 48 hrs of fresh air and was sleeping like a log. Happily she is now ensconced in her bed. No pics because mom is a dumbass and left the camera behind. The only really amusing part of putting the Taj Mahal together. This tent is HUGE. 4 room 10 man tent. The bonus is, its 6 poles and some guy wires for the fly and awning and thats it. Peg it down and yer done.

With the census, we're in clean up mode now. We're on hourly wages now instead of piece work which is nice since things aren't coming in anywhere near what they were before.

Thats it for me today, I'm off to have a shower and get this awful campfire smell off me.

I got lost in blogland today while doing some research about preemies ... so I decided that Presleigh needed her own blog. I'm too tired to edit my template right now, I will do it later, however....

Since towards the end of April, the emails between him and I have gotten more frequent, and a couple of weeks ago, he got a PDA thingie gizmo-whositmacallit that has Web N Walk from VerizonUK which means unlimited web..and since he's working nights... our conversations more frequent and longer...

Today, I finally got to hear his voice again.. a voice I haven't heard in 5 years, but a voice I'd know anywhere. And everything was the same. It was like picking up where we left off years ago.

I was kinda nervous at first.. I wasn't sure if it was going to be an awkward conversation since our last conversation ended badly.
But it was perfect.. we waffled about everything and nothing and I carried on putting my girls to bed, and he was working and ...it was just good..very good. Over an hr of waffling...I can see my 1000 Overseas Minutes with Shaw going by very quickly ;-)

The first time we met face to face, I knew it was him from half a block away by the way he walked, and considering I had never seen him, I am still baffled how you can know someone's walk when you haven't seen it before. I was madly in love with him before I met him... by an hr after being with him, I was goners. *smile*
And I can see it starting all over again...
