Sorry for the long absence, just been crazy crazy at work.
In Halifax, the Instrument Landing System (ILS) is broken broken broken, so if there is any inclement weather, we cannot land (nor can anyone else) as visual flight rules apply and so if its foggy and there is less than 1 statute mile (SM) of visibility, we ain't landing. We've been spending alot of time landing in Moncton. And there is no ETA on repair ..a few weeks we're told. Urgh.
The kids(tm) are going to LA on Wednesday. They're gonna go do Disneyland and Universal Studios. Got a fantastic deal with Travelodge right across the street from the gates.
Devin got his call back to his old job and is as happy as a pig in shit. Working tonnes and tonnes of overtime.
Cricket did this compliment thingiewossname (that is the proper term) for everyone and I'm going to shamelessly steal it.
So here are my compliments to people....
T - we've known each other for ages and ages. You are an amazing friend. I know we don't see each other as often as we used to, but I know I can always count on you for a late nite mushrooms session and catching up on everything. Always be true to you.
Cricket - What do I say about you? You truly are my soul sister. I'm certain that if we ever met face to face, we'd never shut up. You are one of the few people I have met through blogging that I have established such a fantastic relationship with and I can't wait til we can smuggle you into Canada and save you from the JesusFreaks.
Charlie - Regardless of where we go in life, we have established a fantastic friendship and shared things that one can only dream of having with a friend they have never met. I'm still gonna call you Charlie, but I promise it won't sound like your mother. ;-) I miss our chats lately and I can't wait to hear the rest of the road trip.
JohnQ - One more of the fabulous people I have met through blogging. I wrote you a letter awhile ago and I think it says more than I can say here. Believe in you and take care of you. I know only too well the place you're in and I'll be standing here watching yer back. :-)
Penny - We've become friends because of blogging, but the foundation was there long before that. I can't wait for Vancouver (or San Fran if I can get the time off!) where we can terrorize and make Mossy wonder what he did. :-) You make me laugh and we can talk about anything. Thank you for putting up with my weirdassed uncaffeinated conversation in the mornings.
Mossy - Dude... where do I start? We've known each other for years... and to think you wanted nothing to do with me at first and now yer stuck with me ;-)
We've had the strangest conversations, and we have had the heart to heart ones too. Thank you for all of that and more.
To the other readers...Duff, Larry, Dan, Dtrini... I don't know you all that well however, I enjoy reading your stories, your lives, and I thank you for making me laugh.
And onto another topic... NASCAR - WHEEEEEEEEE go JR. The #8 finally won a race! He's not my driver, he's Devin's... but my driver finished 37 and down 57 laps...so I might as well cheer for the next best thing.
Speaking of my driver, Devin bought me my 4th M&Ms car for my birthday. If anyone knows anything about NASCAR collectibles you'll know what I mean when I give you these specs.
Action Elite "Raced" Limited Edition, #1 of 240
With a piece of the tire, #3706 of 4280
Only one in Canada and in November, Devin is taking it to Phoenix to get signed.
So now Im off to work and to play with people's lives who want to go to Halifax (are you on crack???) and try to figure out why it has to be 28 C on a day I have to sit in stale air.
