So I had my first ultrasound today. I apparently am giving birth to a grain of rice. Or so it appears on the screen. Everything appears good. Heartrate was 154. I couldn't hear the heartbeat as the wand used for that gets very warm and thats apparently a very bad thing at this stage. I just got to see the grain of rice thump at a billion miles an hr.
"Please ensure to drink at least 4 cups of water 1 hr prior to your ultrasound." So while I downed my litre of water, I babbled at Penny and commiserated about that "INEEDTOPEENOW..needtopee..needdddddtopeeeee" feeling.
Anyone that knows Calgary roads knows how bumpy our roads are, knows what an amazing feat it was not to pee in the car... however... throwing up is another matter. All I can say is Thank Herman it was water.
I have a nuchal (sp?) translucency ultrasound on Sept 19th and I have to drink another litre of water. Hopefully on that one that I can have the 4D video thingie that they make.
Roit, now that I have thrown up everything, off to find breakfast.
